Reportedly, star Keanu Reeves donated 70% of his paycheck from the original “The Matrix” movie to cancer research.
That amounts to $31.5 million which he quietly gave to fund leukemia research. It was a personal cause for the actor as his younger sister Kim had been battling leukemia for years.
Unbeknownst to most people, Reeves also created a private foundation that helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research.
When asked about the foundation the modest Reeves said: “I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.”
We need more stars like him.
