And you wonder why Blue Origin’s first all-female flight crew isn’t getting more kudos?

It didn’t help that popstar Katy Perry said before the mission:  “Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”

Because looking your best while experiencing weightlessness is what’s important, right?

And all the over-photoshopped images before the trip didn’t help.

The trip took a whole eight minutes before Katy Perry, Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez landed back on earth where a dramatic Perry kissed the ground after exiting the rocket.

Actress Olivia Munn echoed what many people were thinking on Today With Jenna and Friends; ‘“What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous,” she said. “Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?”’

“I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say,” she added. “But there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now.”
