According to the Wall Street Journal, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden quietly contacted a group of his ardent — and wealthy — supporters Tuesday to ask for help in raising several million dollars, so that he can make news about his fundraising at the same time he makes his formal announcement of his 2020 run.

Even though many Democrats have urged Biden to run, he’s entering a packed field of 20 (so far) contenders, and Beto O’Rourke just raised over 6 Million in less than 24 hours.

In a recent CNN poll, Biden leads with  28 percent support among the crowded field of Democrats followed by Sanders with 20 percent support followed by California’s Sen. Kamala Harris, who is third with 12 percent. The telephone poll conducted Mar. 14 to 17, shows O’Rouke with 11 percent support, but it’s expected that number will change.

A formal announcement is expected soon.
