For my latest men’s grooming adventure, I escaped the stress of the workday for something my skin had been begging for: a visit to the legendary OLEHENRIKSEN Spa in West Hollywood.
Located right on Sunset Plaza at 8622 Sunset Blvd., the OLEHENRIKSEN spa has been a West Hollywood mainstay since 1975 (remodeled during COVID) and remains one of Los Angeles’ most iconic celebrity grooming destinations. Over the years, everyone from Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig to Katy Perry, Kris Jenner, and Charlize Theron have trusted the spa for red carpet prep and skin maintenance. Honestly, if it’s good enough for James Bond, I figured it was probably good enough for me.

I was invited to experience the VSOTO Oxygen Facial along with the spa’s Red Light Bed Ritual, and from the moment I walked in, it felt less like a stuffy spa experience and more like a calming reset button for both my skin and my brain. I immediately loved the atmosphere and was warmly welcomed by the spa team, which instantly set the tone for a relaxing afternoon.

The treatment featured products from VSOTO Skincare, the clean luxury skincare line developed by spa owner and skincare expert Vance Soto. The line is designed to deliver professional spa-level results at home while helping guide skin through everything from dehydration to aging to environmental stress. The products felt luxurious without being heavy or overly fragranced – something my skin definitely appreciated.

A huge highlight of the experience was my aesthetician, Loris, who immediately made the treatment feel personalized instead of one-size-fits-all. Before we even got into the gadgets and glowing lights, I genuinely enjoyed our conversation about skincare, hydration, and how most men wait way too long before taking care of their skin. Guilty as charged!

After
Now, if you’re a gentleman who enjoys the latest tech, this facial combines luxury skincare with an impressive lineup of high-tech tools. Loris used a variety of advanced treatments, including NovaSonic stimulation devices to oxygenate and energize the skin, an ultrasonic scrubber for deep exfoliation, and lymphatic drainage techniques to reduce puffiness and improve circulation. I also got a preview of some of the spa’s more advanced offerings including HydraFacial™ technology, LED light therapy, oxygen infusion systems, and contouring tools designed to tighten and lift the skin.

The VSOTO Oxygen Facial itself is designed to deeply hydrate, calm inflammation, and create what skincare people love calling a “red carpet glow.” Translation: your skin looks healthier, smoother, brighter, and significantly less tired. The oxygen infusion helps push vitamins, antioxidants, and hydrating serums deeper into the skin while also helping create a cleaner, bacteria-free environment – especially helpful if you deal with breakouts or irritation.
After the treatment, my face genuinely felt refreshed, hydrated, and noticeably more energized. There was a glow happening that I definitely did not have walking in. Even better, there was zero downtime. No peeling. No redness. No looking like I lost a fight with a laser machine.
Following the facial, I spent time in the spa’s NeoScience infrared LED bed – essentially a warm cocoon of red light therapy that felt like equal parts wellness treatment and sci-fi movie prop. The experience helped ease muscle tension, relax my body, and left me surprisingly recharged. It was one of those rare moments where you actually force yourself to unplug for 10 minutes and realize how badly you needed it.

What also stood out was how welcoming and friendly the entire staff was. The spa manages to balance high-end luxury with a very approachable energy.
Loris recommends getting a facial every month to six weeks – or at minimum quarterly – to keep skin healthy, refreshed, and maintained. After this experience, I honestly get it. Your skin takes a beating from stress, travel, sun, pollution, and whatever questionable decisions happen during late-night takeout runs.
For guys who are facial-curious but intimidated by the spa world, the VSOTO Oxygen Facial at OLEHENRIKSEN Spa is an easy gateway into actually taking care of your skin without feeling overly complicated or aggressive. And if it can help make me feel at least 3% closer to looking like Daniel Craig, I’ll take it. For more information, visit: OLEHENRIKSEN Spa.
