This was Kamala Harris’ seventh visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and she brought the heat.
Talking about Hurricane Milton churning its way toward Florida, she warned people to evacuate and blasted Trump’s lies about FEMA’s response, saying Trump is ‘incredibly irresponsible’ for spreading Helene misinformation.
“There’s a lot of mis- and disinformation being pushed out there by the former president about what is available, particularly to the survivors of Helene,” Harris todl eporters earlier. “It’s extraordinarily irresponsible. It’s about him. It’s not about you.”
Trump has made a series of false claims in the wake of Helene, including the falsehood that the federal government is ‘intentionally withholding aid to Republican disaster victims.’ He also falsely claimed the Federal Emergency Management Agency had run out of money because all of it had ‘gone to programs for immigrants in the country illegally.’
In a more light-hearted moment, The VP had a beer with the Late Night Show.
Reportedly, she had requested Miller High Life in advance and remarked on the show: “OK, the last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug. Cheers.”
