In a move that will put on hold what the Republicans had hoped would be an easy confirmation to the Supreme Court for Brett Kavanaugh, California Professor Christine Ford has said she will testify to Congress.

This is the woman who came forward at the ninth hour to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual abuse.

As she tells The Washington Post that she went public about the alleged assault — which she says occurred more than three decades ago while she and Kavanaugh were in high school —  because of the magnitude of his appointment.
“Now I feel like my civic responsibility is outweighing my anguish and terror about retaliation,” Ford told the paper, a brave move considering the hell the Republicans and the press will put her through.
Democrats have now demanded that Kavanaugh’s confirmation process should be put on hold pending an investigation.
Even a powerful Republican senator, Maine’s Susan Collins called for the nominee and his accuser to “testify under oath before the Judiciary Committee” in a statement on Twitter.
