You can never have too many lipsticks, am I right girls? And since there’s a recognized holiday for it, we think you’re entitled to a new tube. To help you pick, we’ve rounded up some of our editors’ favorites.
‘Pillow Talk’ by Charlotte Tilbury.
No surprise that Charlotte Tilbury’s cult favorite, ‘Pillow Talk’ is one of our top picks. Flattering on almost any skin tone, the nude/pink shade looks ‘natural but better.’ Just go with one swipe for a nude look or layer it for more of a pink tone. Amal Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Moss are devotees. At $34 it’s pricey but definitely worth it.
For a classic red lipstick, the winner every time is Chanel. Don’t think you can wear a vibrant red? Just try one of the 28 shades and you’ll be surprised (as we were!) The Rouge Coco Flash goes on as a light blush so reapply to get the statement lip. Even with all this color, it wears for hours, even after a martini (or two.) $38 but worth every penny.
The new (to the U.S.) Korean brand already is a best-seller with its Lip Paradise Intense Satin lipstick line, which continuously moisturizes the lips while giving you a zap of color. Long-lasting, in flattering colors, packaged in handsome faux marble — what’s not to love? $34.
‘Stella’ is in our regular rotation.
We’re fans of the Nanacoco.com brand which sells lipsticks for $9 in 181 different colors, so you’re sure you’ll find something you like. The high-saturated colors are gorgeous and you can choose from matte to high-shine. While they don’t last all day, at this price we don’t mind re-applying.
First, the good news: The Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain lasts for hours and gives you just a flush of color and the pen-like applicator makes it easy to achieve the perfect lip. The bad news: Cover Girl discontinued the old line so the only place to find it is on eBay or occasionally they will pop up on Amazon. Approx. $14.
24 gorgeous shades, moisturizing (thanks to avocado oil and Vit E) and a price we love ($6.) We bought a bushel of the matte color line. Hey, research.
“Lipstick is happiness in a tube!” – Charlotte Tilbury.
