Our hero Gov. Cuomo quoted the Beastie Boys Thursday as he warned younger New Yorkers that COVID  rates are rising in his city after youngsters have been out socializing.

“Young people, this is not the time to fight for your right to party,” the governor said, straight from the group’s 1986 hit “Fight for Your Right” during a press briefing in Manhattan. “I fully respect your right to party. But let’s be smart about it.”

Noting that a  single Independence Day party resulted in a surge in cases in Albany, the added:

“We had just about 30 positives from one July 4th party,” he said. “You understand why we say one bad event, one bad group, can be a real problem. One party, 30 people.”
