Four people in Los Angeles were arrested on Wednesday and charged with insurance fraud after claiming that a bear had damaged their cars.
Suspects claimed that a bear got in their 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost while it was parked at Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino mountains and caused interior damage to the vehicle.
To substantiate their claim, they submitted a grainy night video.
When the insurance company showed the footage to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the agency quickly concluded that it was clearly a human wearing a bear suit.
After a raid of the scammer’s home, they found a bear costume.
Operation ‘bear claw’ case closed.
