Key Evangelicals who previously supported Trump are now saying he ‘used them.’
Mike Evans, who previously prayed with Trump, put it this way:
‘Donald Trump can’t save America,” he told the Washington Post. “He can’t even save himself.”
One said bluntly:
“He used us to win the White House. We had to close our mouths and eyes when he said things that horrified us. I cannot do that anymore.”
Another accused the ex-president of acting “like a little elementary schoolchild.” At the same time, another prominent supporter and donor warned that if the GOP picks him as their nominee “we will get destroyed.”
One of the ‘faith advisers’ to Trump, James Robison of Life Outreach International, said in a speech this week that Trump’s ego is getting in the way of the agenda.
“If Mr. Trump can’t stop his little petty issues, how does he expect people to stop major issues?” Robison said.
