The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) just updated their warning about tainted romaine lettuce which they believe has caused a multistate outbreak of E. coli.

Formerly linked to just chopped romaine lettuce, the agency has expanded their recommendation to throw away ALL romaine lettuce — including whole heads of romaine and hearts of romaine, plus chopped romaine and salad mixes containing romaine lettuce. So far, it hasn’t been linked to a certain brand so it’s been harder to pinpoint though they suspect the tainted lettuce is from Arizona.

We’ve included helpful pics of what romaine lettuce looks like but if you’re not sure, don’t take a chance — just throw it away.
