The National Guard has left the building.
The National Guard who was called on January 6th to protect the Capitol from rioters left in May…and now the black security fence is coming down as well.
The 7-feet steel fences topped with razor wire and roadblocks from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol have been scaled back since the insurrection but now, six months later the rest of the ominous fence will be taken down.
Saying that it could take as long as three days, officials warned that visitors will still not be allowed inside.
Reportedly, Federal officials are wary of ‘online chatter from far-right groups’ and conspiracy theorists who could possibly return to storm the Capitol in August after Trump hinted — falsely — that he would be reinstated as President then.
