Eager to see if the C-Lester Topical Vitamin C20 Serum (1 oz. $155) from Dermaesthetics reduces dark spots and brightens the skin’s complexion, I dove in and have been applying the 4 to 5 drops bottle recommends before moisturizing in the morning. (I use retinol at night so don’t apply in the evening/they recommend morning and evening.)

What makes it work? The C20 Serum claims to defend against environmental damage caused by free radicals and pollution. The ingredients state that the serum is a combination of pure 20% vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), red algae extract, aloe vera extract plus other botanical ingredients. Other benefits from the C20 Serum claim to help are common signs of aging, photodamage, fine lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness.

My results? The C20 serum feels rich and creamy on first application and after I apply my moisturizer, I have a nice “glow.” My skin tone across the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead seems even and brighter. I applied it under my eyes at first but stopped because that area is sensitive (for me).

The C-20 has many 5-star reviews, is definitely pricey but it works!
