The Washington Post is reporting this morning that some of Trump’s records that the former President whisked away to Mar-a-Lago were clearly marked as classified, including documents at ‘top secret’ level.
Up till now, none of the documents were thought to be classified — and this changes everything.
The existence of documents officially labeled as classified in the trove — which has not previously been reported — raises new questions about why the materials were taken out of the White House.
Discovered by the National Archives, which only last month got the 15 boxes back from Trump’s Florida residence, archive officials have now requested the Justice Department to look into the matter, which would trigger the FBI to get involved.
