It took the jury less than three hours.

In the E. Jean Carroll defamation case, Trump has been ordered to pay  $83.3 million in damages for defaming her. Refresh: Trump was found liable for defaming the journalist by lying about sexually assaulting her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s.

$7.3 million of that is for ’emotional harm’, then there’s the  $11 million for ‘reputational damages’ and a staggering $65 million for ‘punitive damages.’

The jury concluded that Trump had acted out of ‘hatred, ill will, or spite’.

Naturally, Trump slammed the verdict as ‘absolutely ridiculous!’ and confirmed he would appeal the decision. He then went on to scream on Truth Social:

‘They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!’
