As Covid cases surge in the LA area, Los Angeles County is saying ‘put those masks back on when you’re inside.’

Regardless of vaccination status, everyone must mask up when they’re inside a restaurant, store, or bank and the order takes effect Saturday.

Since the delta variant is so infectious, The County decided it’s the only way to protect LA County’s 10 million people.
“Masking indoors must again become a normal practice by all, regardless of vaccination status, so that we can stop the trends and level of transmission we are currently seeing,” county officials said in a Thursday newsletter announcing the mandate. “We expect to keep this order in place until we begin to see improvements in our community transmission of covid-19. But waiting for us to be at high community transmission before making a change would be too late.”

4 million people in LA County are still not vaccinated. Note: In LA, the only hospitalized COVID patients are people who are not vaccinated.
