An incensed judge charged Paul Manafort with mortgage fraud, among other charges, and added years to his sentence saying Manafort was ‘only sorry he got caught.’ Now  Trump’s dirty campaign manager could spend up to seven years in jail.

‘Saying I’m sorry I got caught is not an inspiring plea for leniency,’ Judge Jackson said from the bench.

‘It is hard to overstate the number of lies and the amount of fraud and the extraordinary amount of money involved,’ Judge Jackson told the hushed courtroom.

Most importantly, this means that even if Trump pardons Manafort for Federal crimes, the state of New York can still put Manafort in jail. Sometimes, the Justice Department works like it’s supposed to.
