Now before you go plan a raging party, though the DCD this morning issued new guidance for vaccinated folks, it comes with a number of caveats. While gathering indoors with others who also are fully vaccinated is deemed safe, outdoors you still need to wear a mask and socially distance.

And yes, this does mean you can now hug Grandma.

And since vaccinated people can be asymptomatic and spread the disease, be careful to stick to a small group of family members or friends. As well, the new COVID variants could change the CDC’s message in an instant.

Though there are now 30 million people in the United States who are fully vaccinated, the US  still averages more than 60,000 cases per day, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Keep your guard up.
