As you read this, President Biden is being whisked out of Ukraine but Monday made a surprise visit to meet with President Zelensky. This week it will be one year since Russia invaded Ukraine.

After months of planning, Biden was flown to Poland and then taken by train to Kyiv. At the meeting with President Zelensky, he promised $500 M in additional assistance to Ukraine and  “another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars” for the country.

Biden told  reporters that he traveled to Kyiv to show that the United States is “here to stay.”

That’s what real leadership looks like.
