As the Iran war roils global energy markets, Trump said that rising oil prices are a “small price to pay,” and suggested that people concerned about them are “fools.”

In a post on social media on Sunday, March 8, the president criticized the mounting concerns and claimed the price hikes were temporary.

“Short term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace,” Trump wrote, noting, “ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!”
