Trump swiftly dismissed the impact of newly released emails from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein after they were made public by the House Oversight Committee. The documents, which include a 2019 email in which Epstein wrote that “Trump … knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop,” and a 2011 message referencing Trump as “that dog that hasn’t barked … [Victim] spent hours at my house with him,” suggest Trump may have had awareness of Epstein’s wrongdoing.
“I know how dirty donald is,” Epstein wrote in another message, released in a batch of 20,000 documents from House Republicans.
In another email to his attorney, Epstein wrote: (He’s) “borderline insane,” which Epstein added is “corroborated [sic] by some that are close.”
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump screamed in all caps:
“THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN HOAX.”

He went on to rant that the “Hoax” was perpetuated by Democrats and accused them of using the emails as a distraction from “their massive failures.” The president reiterated his denial of any wrongdoing or direct involvement with Epstein’s criminal activities.
And this won’t help Trump, as his own party seems ready to defect on the Epstein vote. Senior Republicans privately believe dozens of Republicans will vote for full releases of the Epstein files.
