Do not be alarmed.

At 2:20 ET (11:20 PT) all of our cellphones will make a loud sound — reportedly one we’ve never heard before — and we’ll see a push alert pop up on the screens. Radio and TV channels will also broadcast an alert at the same time for approximately one minute.

You’ve been warned, about the warning.

From the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Federal Communications, the blaring message will read.

“THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

They need to test it to make sure that it works in case of an actual emergency, such as a natural disaster, terrorism, or any other threat to the entire nation.
