On November 8, election day, the NBA said they won’t schedule any games and even went further by asking the players to encourage fans to vote.

“The scheduling decision came out of the NBA family’s focus on promoting nonpartisan civic engagement and encouraging fans to make a plan to vote during midterm elections,” the league said on Tuesday.

Translation: Get out and vote!

Quick reminder: All 435 US House seats will be up for grabs on 8 November, along with more than 30 US Senate seats and gubernatorial races. This is a key election as the Senate is currently split 50-50  between Republicans and Democrats.
