After Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cut jobs at critical US Health Agencies—in what one employee described as ‘a bloodbath, ‘ an estimated 10,000 full-time employees were terminated. Robert Califf, former FDA commissioner, said the layoffs were “a dark day for public health”.
Now, R.F.K Jr said some of the programs and staff will be ‘reinstated.’
“And that was always the plan,” Kennedy said. “We’re going to do 80% cuts, but 20% of those are going to have to be reinstalled because we’ll make mistakes.”
This was ‘always the plan’?
Under Elon Musk’s DOGE, thousands of Federal workers were terminated, and then the Trump administration desperately tried to hire some of them back, only to find out they had no way to contact them once their work email had been cut off. Many of the workers have yet to return to their jobs.
The chaos is staggering.
