After 15 long days of testimony from 20 witnesses, the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Monday rested the hush money case in the first criminal trial of an American president.

Trump’s lawyers convinced the ex-President not to testify and wrapped up their case as well.

However, Judge Merchan announced that closing arguments wouldn’t begin until after Memorial Day, giving the jurors an extended break.

Trump has maintained that the trial was ‘politically motivated’ and called it a ‘witch hunt.’ Nothing new there.
