For the last Republican debate, the contenders baited and insulted each other, leaving no clear winner. Most of the fireworks were between Chris Christie and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Former NJ Gov. Chris Christie called rival Vivek Ramaswamy a ‘jacka**’ with a ‘woman problem,’ while Ramaswamy called Niki Haley a ‘fascist.’
Later, Christie labeled Ramaswamy the “most obnoxious blowhard in America,’ and Ramaswamy told him :
‘So do everybody a favor, just walk yourself off that stage, enjoy a nice meal and get the hell out of this race.’
Nikki Haley was also the target — at one point Ramaswamy whipped out a sign saying “Nikki = corrupt.” That was when he took a breather from spouting conspiracy theories.
Christie got in another jab when he referred to Ramaswamy as the ‘drunk driver of the debate stage, you never know where he’s going or what he’s going to hit.’
If anyone came off well, it was Nikki Haley who gamely deflected the insults, replying at one point: “I love all the attention, fellas” — and proceeded with her agenda rather than get stuck in the mud like the other candidates.
