According to CNN, fourteen rapidly moving wildfires have consumed 57,000 acres and forced 20,000 people to evacuate their homes in California. The fires have ignited since Sunday night, Cal Fire Director Ken Pimlott said at a news conference. The fires have destroyed more than 1,500 homes and commercial buildings. The biggest fires are burning in the Napa wine country.

“We need every resident to heed evacuation warnings and orders and move out quickly,” Pimlott said.
High winds and hot, dry weather has helped the fire spread and hampered the firefighters. Firefighters from throughout California are coming to their aid.
