In a short, scripted video yesterday, Trump acknowledged he lost the election — for the first time– and called for peace.

This is a marked change for the combative President. So why did he do it?

Simple, his White House counsel warned him that he could be prosecuted for inciting the riot on the Capitol.

Reportedly, he initially resisted but under threat of legal action, he threw his followers under the bus and tried to save his own skin.

‘To those who engage in the acts of violence and destruction: You do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law, you will pay,’ he said.

But calls continue to grow for the removal of Trump. The DOJ announced they are looking to lock up not just the MAGA rioters, but also people responsible for encouraging the take-down of the Capitol.

‘We are looking at all actors, not only the people who went into the building,’ Michael Sherwin, the U.S. attorney in Washington, said at a press conference.

In the video, Trump also lies about calling in the National Guard when he resited and it was actually VP Mike Pence who made the call.
