President Trump just announced Monday morning that he will make a prime-time speech to talk about the ongoing government shutdown on Tuesday.

Trump confirmed the news on — what else? — Twitter and is traveling to the border (for the optics.)

And the President just can’t demand airtime; if the networks don’t think his speech is a big news event they can choose not to cover it.

Pundits expect more of the same from Trump; pushing for his expensive wall while thousands of furloughed workers figure out how to put food on the table.
