At Trump’s vile rally speech this weekend, he angrily riled up his base with this:
“They poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world. Not just in South America. Not just the three or four countries we think about. But all over the world they’re coming into our country, from Africa, from Asia.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has quoted Hitler.
In 1990 Trump’s late first wife Ivana Trump told Vanity Fair that her former spouse used to keep a book of Adolf Hitler’s speeches in his bedside cabinet.
At the time, Trump insisted:
“If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.”
But then in a 2018 visit to Europe, Trump was quoted praising the Nazi leader telling his then-chief of staff John Kelly that Hitler “did a lot of good things” like dragging Germany out of economic turmoil in the 1930s.
Meanwhile, the Biden campaign has since accused Trump of ‘parroting Hitler.’
