As the Delta virus continues to put people in the hospital, spread by the unvaccinated, experts are now warning that the entire country should mask back up.

“We are at a very different point in the pandemic than we were a month ago,” Dr. Leana Wen told CNN on Tuesday. “And therefore, we should follow the example of LA County and say that if there are places where vaccinated and unvaccinated people are mixing, then indoor mask mandates should still apply.”

With only 48.7% of the total US population fully vaccinated against the virus, (according to the CDC) we are nowhere near herd immunity. Experts recommend that unless you are in a gathering where you know everyone’s vaccination status, it’s best to mask up.
