The proceedings began early — at 5 am ET.

The Royal Navy escorted the Queen from Westminster Hall, where she was “lying at rest,” to nearby Westminster Abbey. Elizabeth got married there in 1947 and was crowned there in 1953.

The funeral began at 11 a.m. and ends with two minutes of national silence just before noon.

To signal the end of the service a short bugle call will sound, similar to taps in the US.It will be followed by two minutes of silence across the United Kingdom. Later, the congregation will sing the national anthem, “God Save the King.”

It symbolizes the passing of one monarch and the arrival of the next, said a Royal expert.

“There’s the mantra the monarchy never dies. A monarch dies. The monarchy never dies.”

Major networks are carrying it live or you can stream on CNN.
