It was just announced that the tech and film festival known as SXSW will be canceled due to fears about the Coronavirus.

On the recommendation of public health officials, Austin Mayor Steve Adler said Friday he was issuing a state of emergency that effectively canceled the March event.

Though there are no known cases of the virus in Austin, the festival draws an international crowd and the fear was it might spread the Coronavirus.

”The show must go on’ is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 34 years that the March event will not take place. We are working through the ramifications of this unprecedented situation,’ the organizers said in their statement.

They are still working out how to handle refunds so please be patient.
