The CDC warned students not to travel over Spring break, given that only a small part of the US has been vaccinated. In Florida, it’s estimated that only 10 percent of people have been vaccinated.
Still, crowds of drunken, maskless students crowded the Florida beaches this week.
Miami is expecting students from over 200 colleges to visit in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the Sunshine State. has recorded 32,419 new coronavirus infections and 653 deaths this week.
Matthew Wellington, a public health official, told The Orlando Sentinel: ‘There’s definitely a concern that the spring breakers who are traveling to Florida might bring home more than just the souvenir shot glass this year.’
