On Thursday more than one million COVID vaccine holdouts got the vaccine. Half of those were people getting their first shot.
Predictably, states with the highest virus rates — looking at you Florida and Texas — recorded their highest vaccine rates.
Experts believe that people are responding to fears over the Delta variant and businesses, governments, and events mandate that people be vaccinated.
President Joe Biden also heralded the good news and urged Americans to keep getting shots in arms.
President Biden tweeted yesterday:
‘We have administered over one million COVID-19 vaccine doses in the past 24 hours – that’s the highest number in seven weeks.’
‘If you haven’t yet, please get vaccinated. Let’s keep this momentum going and defeat COVID-19.’
