The 67th Annual Grammy Awards at the Crpto Arena Arena in Los Angeles celebrated a night of musical excellence, memorable performances, and historic wins. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah for the fifth consecutive year, the ceremony honored artists and also raised money for victims of the recent L.A. wildfires. At the end of the ceremony, Noah announced over 7 million had been raised.
Historic Wins and Big Winners
Beyonce made history by winning her first Album of the Year award for ‘Cowboy Carter,’ a kaleidoscopic reimagining of country music. This achievement marks her as only the fourth Black woman to receive this honor.
Kendrick Lamar emerged as the night’s most-awarded artist, securing five Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for ‘Not Like Us.’ This accomplishment makes ‘Not Like Us’ the most decorated rap song in Grammy history.
Chappell Roan was honored as Best New Artist, delivering a theatrical performance of ‘Pink Pony Club,’ her love letter to Los Angeles and a celebration of queer discovery.
Memorable Performances and Moments
The ceremony featured a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the recent Californian wildfires. Dawes, accompanied by several artists, delivered a moving performance dedicated to those affected by the tragedy.
Shakira, upon accepting her award for Best Latin Pop Album, used her platform to criticize former President Trump’s deportation policies, highlighting the intersection of music and activism.
The night also included a special honor for The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, celebrating their enduring contributions to music.
Fashion Highlights
As always, the Grammy red carpet showcased bold and diverse fashion statements, including Kayne West’s wife, who showed up basically nude. And there’s no truth to the rumor that they were kicked out of the Grammys — they were never invited and just showed up for the Red Carpet.
The 2025 Grammy Awards celebrated musical achievements and addressed pressing social issues, making it a night to remember.
