This morning an explosion rocked Upper Manhattan as two building collapsed. The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, but Con Edison confirms that it was responding to a report of a gas odor in the area just before the explosion occurred. The call came in at 9:13 a.m.

At least two people, both women, are dead and at least 14 others injured, two of them seriously. Harlem Hospital reports it has three patients and is expecting more, and Mount Sinai also confirms it has received patients. The ranking official at the scene says these numbers are expected to change.

Developing story.
