It’s just as if the Disney cartoon, ‘The Fox and the Hound’ had come to life! This adorable fox cub, Forrest, was found at just 4 weeks old, abandoned and missing most of it’s tail. Fortunately, his rescuer was a wildlife ranger in Cornwall who nursed Forrest (nicknamed ‘Forrest Stump’) back to health — and introduced the cub to his dog Barney, who is also missing part of his tail.

The rest is the stuff of fairytale as the two animals have become best friends. Mr Zammit said: ‘It really was love at first sight with them both. Barney is so gentle with him and they play for hours and hours. They are exhausting to watch.’
