‘Inspired’ by the “Freedom Convoy” that shut down Ottawa’s city center for more than three weeks, truckers in the US headed from California to Washington to protest against vaccine mandates.
The ‘People’s Convoy ‘organizers are demanding the American government drop all pandemic-related mandates and “re-open the country,” (whatever that means) according to a statement from the group.
Biden has called in the National Guard and large trucks are in place– many of them Department of Public Works trucks — to block the convoy if appears.
National organizer Maureen Steele, 57, said the convoy will head to Washington, D.C., and is expected to arrive after the State of the Union Tuesday.
Still, the convoy is disorganized and despite the claim that ‘hundreds” would join the convoy, only 40 trucks were counted.
