After Trump pulled out that old chestnut — that his V.P. ‘could have overturned the election’–  Mike Pence struck back saying forcefully that Trump is WRONG and he had ‘no right’ to overturn Biden’s win.

As you remember, on that fateful day Trump angrily tweeted that Pence lacked ‘courage’ and should have acted anyway, which lead to the mob chanting ‘hang’ Pence. He’s lucky the crowd didn’t find him in the Capitol.

To quote the former V.P. :

‘There is no idea more unAmerican than the notion that any one person could choose the American president,’ said Pence

‘President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election.’

Not only did Pence go against his former boss in this extraordinary speech, but he is also at odds with his own party who first maintained that the Capitol rioters were ‘tourists’ and today announced their finding that the Capitol mob was engaged in ‘legitimate political discourse.’

In contrast, Pence called Jan. 6th a ‘dark day in the history of the United States Capitol. Lives were lost. Many were injured.’
