Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have said they are willing to film themselves getting the COVID vaccine if it helps give the American public confidence in the shot.
“People like Anthony Fauci, who I know, and I’ve worked with, I trust completely,” Obama said. “So, if Anthony Fauci tells me this vaccine is safe, and can vaccinate, you know, immunize you from getting Covid, absolutely, I’m going to take it.”
This comes as many in the US have expressed concerns about taking a vaccine, even though clinical trials have shown them to be very effective.
Public health experts say at least 60% to 70% of the population needs to take a vaccine to achieve “herd immunity,” a public health term for ‘when a critical mass of the public is inoculated against a given infectious disease.’
