Do you know a frontline worker who stands out in your community? The Nuvision Credit Union ”Share Your First Responder Story,” program was created to bring some attention to hospital workers, firefighters, EMT’s, paramedics, police officers, sheriffs, and state troopers who have made a difference in their community.

Nuvision in partnership with the American Red Cross and the Huntington Beach Firefighters Association are running a blood drive September 9th from 9AM TO 3PM  to help first responders and the community and everyone will also get a safe COVID test.  To sign up, go here: Huntington Beach Blood Drive.

To give you an idea, here is one of the frontline workers, Cliff Walker, a firefighter with Seal Beach Federal Fire Department is the first of the five nominees selected for Southern California:

At the age of 53, Walker shows no sign of slowing down, and his participation in fitness challenges to raise money for charity has made him a local hero. At age 53, in full fireman gear and an oxygen tank, equipment that weighs an incredible 70 lbs, Walker recently ran a marathon in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. This wasn’t his first time completing such a strenuous challenge. In 2017, Walker ran one marathon a month in full gear to raise money for fellow firefighter’s son, who was four years old and battling stage four brain cancer.  He plans on announcing a new challenge to run across the state of California to continue to raise money for charity.

Each of the five selected honorees from each region will receive a $250 cash prize, as well as another $250 donation to go to the first responder’s charity of their choice.
