Artist Nalini “Deedee” Cheriel says she’s inspired by punk rock, feminism, and folklore from her native India in her recent work “Natural Resource” a striking showing of her latest paintings. “Natural Resource” will be on display from August 1 – 29, 2015 at Merry Karnowsky Gallery on South La Brea with a private artist’s reception on Saturday, August 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.


“Natural Resource” is a strong collection of the artist’s emotive works, mixing ancient legend with modern life, predator with prey, east with west, and man with beast.

Artists and celebrities like Marisa Tomei, Katy Perry, Rooney Mara, Shepard Fairey, and Atticus Ross collect her paintings.
