What is it? LucidBrake  is a motion-sensing, press-on bicycle brake light which blinks when you’re moving and turns solid when you stop (just like a car’s brake light.) Since you can attach the LED light onto any surface –  bike, rider, helmet, backpack — dangerous traffic can see you even at night when you brake or slow down.

With proprietary algorithms which allow self-adjusting to any mounting angle, even if the LucidBreak is mounted at a slight angle, or on something that moves side to side, say your helmet, it will figure it out automatically.

Featuring 8 ultra-bright LEDs, LucidBrake reportedly can be seen up to a ½ mile away at night and ¼ mile during the day.   The 8 bright LEDs detect  movement on boats, jet skis, bikes, skateboards, wheelchairs, scooters, helmets, and even backpacks, clothing, signs — so you can stick one on just about anywhere.

The company launched LucidBrake through a Kickstarter campaign, and has just designed the next, upgraded version which is exclusively available for pre-order at Bike Brake Light. The first 25 backers will get the early bird discount special of $50, with additional backers receiving LucidBrake at the discounted rate of $69.99.

If you want one, you’d better move fast.
