Like every event this year, the annual LA Foodbowl will be a virtual one, an extravaganza featuring a series of online events through the Takeout and Give Back campaign. Kicking off in August, the lineup will include an interactive dinner party featuring food from The Times’ Restaurant of the Year honoree, charity food drives, and a cook-a-thon livestream featuring special guest appearances. (Registration for the live cook-a-thon is available now at lafoodbowl.com.)

As always, there is a give-back element to the Foodbowl; this year Food Bowl Takeout and Give Back is supporting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and World Central Kitchen (yes, run by celebrated Chef José Andrés.)

The big event – the Gold Award and Restaurant of the Year Award — will be presented at a virtual dinner event on Sept. 26. We already know that this year’s winner is chef Josef Centeno of Orsa and Winston.

Limited tickets for this dinner event are available so act fast! Then prepare to pack up your dinner packages prior to the online conversation experience with the Chef. Guests will re-heat the 3 course prepared meal at home while tuning in to the event at 6:30 PM.
