A mysterious drawing appeared overnight at England’s Reading Prison, infamous as the jail that held Oscar Wilde (for being a ‘homosexual’.)

The mural shows an inmate escaping over the wall with a rope fashioned from bedsheets …and tethered to a typewriter.

After being released, Wilde wrote the ‘Ballad of Reading Goal’ which told the horrors of his prison incarceration.

Banksy usually makes a social commentary with his art, so we’re of the opinion that this is indeed an orginal.
