Harry Dean Stanton, the actor who seemed to have been born old and grizzled, passed away Friday of natural causes in L.A.

Known for his roles in “Twin Peaks,” “Big Love,” “Pretty in Pink,” and “Repo Man,’ it was his scene-stealing part in Wim Wenders’ “Paris, Texas” that got him noticed, though mainstream audiences probably remember as Molly Ringwald’s unemployed father in “Pretty in Pink.”

Go in peace.
