#GivingTuesdayNow is a  global day of unity taking place today, May 5, 2020, as a response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Charities are hurting as you can imagine. Even if you just have a little bit, consider donating to any one of these worthy charities.

Wilma Wiggles @ Rescue From The Hart.

RESCUE FROM THE HART

The founder, Annie Hart, works tirelessly to rescue at-risk dogs and raises money for the ones needing surgery that most won’t take. Thanks to her, many pups have gone on to live happy lives. To help kick start this wave of generosity, the rescue has organized a donation match (from the Athena Fund ) so for every dollar you give, it will be worth double, going twice as far to help them help dogs. Donate here.

One of our favorite charities — The Sesame Workshop — is doing critical work with children all over the world right now and needs your help. Dig deep in those couch cushions for some change!  Caring for Each Other is their COVID-19 response initiative.

The LA Regional Food Bank is working at warp speed to feed those who have been hard hit from the Coronavirus, as well as meeting the regular needs of thousands of Angelenos whom they help every day.

Especially among lower-income communities, the need is great and the L.A. Food Bank is there. Your impact: $100 = 400 meals. Give what you can — even a buck goes a long way.

The coronavirus continues to spread rapidly across international borders. It has now reached countries with weak health systems that are less prepared to combat the disease.

The International Rescue Committee has launched coronavirus preparedness and response programs in over 40 countries, including the US, Greece, Italy, Syria and Yemen. Their health teams are working around the clock to rapidly detect, respond and prevent further spread of the disease. Donate here and save a life.

“Protect yourselves and others. Stay home. We’ll protect the wildlife”.

When times are difficult for people, animals also suffer.

During this COVID-19 crisis, IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) staff are working around the clock to provide desperately needed food to companion animals … to protect elephants from criminal poachers … and to rescue orphaned tiger cubs, stranded dolphins, injured golden eagles and so many more animals. They’ve set the goal to raise  $100,000 for #GivingTuesdayNow—so please help them get there with your gift today.
