There may have been some,uh, disagreement about Selena Gomez’s dress, but everyone could agree that her make-up was fresh and flawless.

Her make-up artist,  Hung Vanngo let us in on how he created her look:

“The theme is technology, but we didn’t want her to look too costumey. we wanted her to look beautiful, fresh, sexy and young, so we kept the makeup to a minimum. We wanted her to look like herself. First, I prepared her skin for makeup with Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, leaving it on for 10 minutes.”

“Then, I patted a few drops of Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate into cheeks and forehead for extra moisture and radiance, and moisturized with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado to create a smooth base.

Next, foundation, concealer and powder:  I used Chanel Vital Lumiere Foundation in 40 B, and just a little concealer, NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer in Custard; Selena has flawless skin to begin with. I set her makeup with NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder.

‘For her eyes, I filled in her eyebrow with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, and set them with Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.

I wanted her eyes to be a soft, smoky black, so instead of liquid liner, I used thick lines of Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Raven and blended them out.’

I added a few medium-length individual Ardell lashes, mostly on the outer corner of her eye, and then coated her lashes with two coats of Dior Diorshow Extase Mascara in Black Extase.

Instead of eye shadow, I did a wash of MAC Glitter Reflects Gold across her lid and on the lower lash line.

Then, I used Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Killer Cheekbones for shading and highlighting her cheekbones and the top of her nose. I dusted Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Gold Dust just along the hairline and along the jaw, and brushed Surratt Beauty Artistique Blush in Duchesse, mostly on her cheekbone.

Finally, I used Kiehl’s Facial Fuel No-Shine Moisturizing Lip Balm to smooth her lips, and then I lined them and filled them in with Cover Girl Lipperfection Lip Liner in Seduce 210. I finished with CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Creme 230.
