During an interview on CNN Sunday, Carl Bernstein, who helped bring down Nixon with the Watergate tapes, sounded the alarm after hearing the leaked recording of Trump’s call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, where the President basically asked him to overturn the election.
Going even further, Bernstein warned the recording was ‘worse than Watergate’ and claimed it revealed that the US president was a ‘criminal.’
‘We have both a criminal president of the United States in Donald Trump, and a subversive president of the United States,’ Bernstein said, adding that the call, ‘is the ultimate smoking gun tape. It is the tape with the evidence of what this president is willing to do to undermine the electoral system and illegally, improperly, and immorally try to instigate a coup.’
